The SIP National Convention is a biennial event that aims to provide a valuable opportunity for former participating youths to reconnect with peers, mentors, and friends, fostering networking opportunities that can lead to professional collaborations and personal friendships. It also aims to help maintain ongoing engagement with the organization and its mission, reinforcing a sense of belonging and commitment among members.

Last June 9-11, 2023, the vibrant city of Davao played host to the SIP National Convention organized by SIP Davao Region Chapter. This significant event gathered alumni from across the country, fostering a spirit of unity and collaboration among former participants of the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP).

The convention commenced with an opening ceremony held at Rogen Inn attended by NYC Commissioner Alexa Dayanghirang, followed by the General Membership Meeting and Assembly. Wearing their tribal and ethnic-inspired accessories, the delegates were welcomed by the city government of Davao City at the "Dabaw Night", where the participants enjoyed a sumptuous welcome dinner. The convention also celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Mindanao. A cultural night showcased traditional music, dance, and costumes, providing a platform for participants to experience the diverse culture of Mindanao. This celebration of cultural diversity underscored the convention's theme of unity and mutual respect.

On Day 2, institutional visits were also done at the IMIN Philippine-Japan Historical Museum, Philippine Eagle Center, and Malagos Garden Resort. The National Convention capped off with the ASEAN-Japan Friendship Commemoration Dinner at Davao Convention and Trade Center, graced by former participating youths and Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN, Ambassador Joy M. Quintana .
