The picturesque city of Pattaya, Thailand, played host to the SSEAYP International General Assembly (SIGA) from May 1 to 4, 2024. This annual event, a significant gathering for alumni of the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP), brought together former participants from across ASEAN countries and Japan.
Twenty-two former Philippine participating youths graced the event, led by SIP 9th-term Board Chairperson Michelle Laurel and President Binky Caral.

SIGA Pattaya commenced with the 82nd Presidents (COP) Meeting, inaugurated by Mr. Praiwan Aromchuen, Deputy Chairman of Pattaya City Council, alongside senior advisors from ASSEAY. The COP Meeting aimed to finalize the SIGA agenda, ensuring an exceptional three-night event and discussing the future direction of the SSEAYP International community.
The Welcome Reception was a highlight, featuring vibrant long drum performances and elephants greeting the participants at the entrance, with additional performances by Nongnooch Garden. Participants, dressed in student uniforms, showcased their youthful spirit with the energetic SIGA dance.
During the event, Chairperson Michelle Laurel presented SIP's country report to the delegation which included the post-program activities of Batch Silay of the 47th SSEAYP along with the initiatives and activities of the organization.
