SSEAYP International Philippines (SIP) held its much-anticipated Year-End Party at the Main Auditorium of the Philippine Normal University (PNU) in Manila last December 14, 2024. This event served as a vibrant celebration of camaraderie, achievement, and tradition for the alumni and supporters of the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP).
The gathering was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Director Shigehiro Matsuda of the Japan International Cultural Center, who delivered an inspiring keynote speech that underscored the importance of youth empowerment and international cultural exchange. SIP President Binky Caral opened the event with a warm welcome address, expressing gratitude for the enduring spirit of community among members.
The event commenced with the General Assembly of Membership, where updates and announcements were shared with the attendees. A significant part of the program was the welcoming and induction of Batch Hiraya, the 48th batch of Philippine Participating Youths (PPYs) who returned to the Philippines on December 11, 2024, after their enriching SSEAYP journey. The newly inducted members brought renewed energy to the organization and were formally recognized during a heartfelt ceremony.

The event was a testament to the enduring bonds formed through SSEAYP and the shared commitment to fostering cultural understanding and youth leadership. Alumni from various batches reunited, reminiscing about their shared experiences aboard the Nippon Maru and exchanging stories of their post-program endeavors.
As the event concluded, the attendees left with renewed inspiration and a deeper sense of purpose. The SSEAYP International Philippines Year-End Party was not just a celebration but also a reaffirmation of the organization’s commitment to empowering youth and promoting cultural exchange.
