48th PPY Batch Hiraya at NAIA International Airport
November 4, 2024 – Manila, Philippines
In a spirited send-off ceremony held at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the new batch of Philippine Youth Ambassadors departed for Japan to participate in the 48th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP). This year’s delegation, comprising 15 dynamic and talented young leaders together with their National Leader, Atty. Aelan Arumpac, will represent the Philippines in a journey that promises cultural exchange, regional cooperation, and lasting friendships.
The program, hosted by the Cabinet Office of Japan in collaboration with ASEAN nations, is a hallmark of regional solidarity and youth empowerment. Delegates from participating countries sail aboard the Nippon Maru, engaging in discussions, cultural exchanges, and community-based projects.
This year, the itinerary includes port calls in Vietnam and Indonesia, where the ambassadors will immerse themselves in the rich cultural landscapes of their ASEAN neighbors. These visits will provide opportunities for intercultural learning, fostering deeper connections among the youth of Southeast Asia and Japan.
The 2024 Philippine delegation was meticulously selected for their leadership potential, cultural fluency, and dedication to the program’s objectives. This group stands as a testament to the dynamic and globally-minded youth of the Philippines.
SSEAYP continues to be a beacon of hope and collaboration for the region, fostering a generation of leaders committed to creating a harmonious and prosperous Southeast Asia.
As the Nippon Maru sets sail, the Filipino delegation carries the country’s pride and aspirations for a more united ASEAN-Japan community. Safe travels to the ambassadors of goodwill!
